Louis de Bruin, Blockchain Leader Europe, IBM

Louis will give an introduction to Blockchain and how he sees blockchain driving and shaping democracy in the near future. He clearly sees Blockchain as a core element of the future operating system of society and will provide insightful examples of use cases. As IBM has been a leader in the blockchain space for some time  now and has gathered great experience in finding appropriate use cases as well as driving the technical development and research, his insights will provide an interesting starting point for further discussion.

  • What: The Blockchain Society Lab, that analyzes how blockchain and the movement of money and digital assets with less friction - hence the Web 3.0 - improves social security, knowledge sharing, business development and strengthens local communities, thereby increasing the likelihood of peace.

  • Mission: The Blockchain Society Lab aims to develop recommendations,  blueprints and tools to help shape a sustainable new blockchain-based operating system for our society and contribute to a healthy coexistence of humans and machines.

  • How: The Blockchain Society Lab and its activities will be co-developed with its partners and stakeholders, as they join in and want to contribute to its mission and goals. Therefore we are now kicking of a co-design programme, during which the Lab will engage with stakeholders from society and the blockchain / Web 3.0 industry.
